North Carolina Caregiver Resources

Dementia Alliance of North Carolina - A great resource for those families in North Carolina that are caring for a loved one with any form of Dementia, including Alzheimer's.
The Wake Network of Care is a one-stop resource directory to help you locate needed services and supports throughout the Wake community. They provide comprehensive information on local services and organizations and a Learning Center dedicated to topics related to health and well-being.
The Triangle Down Syndrome Network is a nonprofit support, resource, and advocacy organization serving individuals, families, and professionals. Their mission is to empower, connect, and support parents of children with Down syndrome, their families, and the community.
The Arc of the Triangle, Inc. supports children and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities [I/DD] in the achievement of their personal goals and dreams in our community through partnership and advocacy.
The Autism Society of North Carolina improves the lives of individuals with autism, supports their families, and educates communities. Their services and programs are tailored to the unique needs of individuals with autism. They enable them to have healthy, safe, and fulfilling lives in their own communities. Their expertise helps individuals – many of whom have significant lifelong needs – be as independent as possible and achieve their goals and dreams.
The Association for Home & Hospice Care of North Carolina (AHHC) is a nonprofit trade association representing providers of home health, hospice, palliative care, personal care, private duty nursing, and companion/sitter services. The Association was established in 1972 and currently has a membership of over 750 provider agencies and vendors who provide products and services to providers. AHHC's mission is to provide Resources, Education, Advocacy, and Leadership. Services include technical assistance, monthly newsletters, quality educational programs, annual directory, email alerts, and political lobbying. AHHC strongly advocates for their members and the many patients they serve and is recognized by colleagues, regulators, and legislators as one of the most active and effective home care associations in the US.
Exchange Family Center has been working for 26 years to better the lives of children in Durham and to keep families together. They use a multi-prong approach — providing support and training for families, caregivers, and childcare professionals, as well as working to raise community awareness. Anyone and everyone can play a part in creating safe and responsive environments for children. Every child deserves a safe, stable, permanent family.
