Job Description
The licensed practical nurse in a home health setting is responsible for providing direct patient care and performing nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed physician. The nurse will make home visits to patients and provide them with nursing care according to the plan of care established by the physician. The nurse will also provide education to patients and families about disease process, medications, and self-care. Other duties of the licensed practical nurse in a home health setting may include wound care, administering injections, and taking vital signs.
